The TIP Mentor Program consists of over 60 trained undergraduate students who are former TIP scholars. Their goal is to enhance academic excellence and to encourage a successful transition to the University of Texas at Austin for our TIP Scholars.
Through weekly contact with their mentees, highly trained peer mentors help students learn about campus resources, adjust to college life, pursue extracurricular opportunities, and develop educational and career aspirations.
Mentor Expectations
- Meet bi-weekly with individual mentee
- Lead bi-weekly group meetings and community-building events with mentee group
- Provide any necessary resources to mentees

The core of the TIP Scholar community is your mentor team. Cultivating the community starts with cultivating your team. Being an engaged and responsible member of this team will seed your network at UT and make for an amazing first year experience.
